Your role with us

You will primarily handle the setting out and surveying of new installations and renovations of streets and water and sewerage (VA) pipe networks. You will have the entire municipality as your work area, based out of Industrigatan in Näsby, Kristianstad.

We work with Trimble GNSS, Trimble Total Station, and leveling instruments. Design surveying is also conducted prior to our projects. In the office, you process survey data and setting-out data in TopoCad and AutoCad, as well as prepare files and models for machine control in various software compatible with the most common machine control systems. The role also includes maintaining our VA pipe database in DP Water by entering survey data.

Who are we looking for?

We require you to have relevant education in surveying technology or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. Education in "Work on Roads" step 1.1-1.3 is meritorious. A few years of experience from practical surveying work within contracting/construction or within a municipality is meritorious. Furthermore, being qualified according to the Swedish Mapping, Cadastre and Land Registration Authority's recommendations for basic surveying technical skills is meritorious. We would appreciate experience with design surveying, pipe databases, and VA operations. You must be able to express yourself well both verbally and in writing, as documentation and communication are part of the job. A category B driver's license is required.

You have the ability to work with other people, meaning you can listen, show empathy, and respect. You are unpretentious and recognize and reward others' contributions. The ability to plan and organize your work is essential. You easily set goals, organize resources, follow up, and conclude activities. To succeed in the role, you must be able to adapt to changing conditions. You encourage and support change initiatives but also easily meet people on their level.

Who we are

As a surveying engineer with us, you are part of the execution unit in a work group consisting of 8 people, including two surveying engineers. In total, approximately 40 people work in the unit.

The Construction Department of the Technical Administration is responsible for the design, construction, and management of the municipality's pipe networks, public spaces, park areas, protected nature, and municipal roads. The department also handles the regulatory duties associated with the Technical Administration's responsibility for road maintenance and land management.

The Technical Committee is responsible, through the Technical Administration, for the development, construction, and management of the municipality's public spaces and buildings. The Committee also has the task of organizing municipal water and sewage supply (VA) and is the road maintenance authority for municipal roads.
