The Department of Medical Sciences is a large clinical department with approximately 250 employees and over 900 individuals affiliated through, among other things, Uppsala University Hospital. The department has a broad research profile with strong research groups in a number of areas. The research takes place in close connection with the clinical activities at Uppsala University Hospital and covers both basic studies regarding disease causes and the development and evaluation of improved diagnostics and new treatment methods. The department is now seeking a Research Nurse/Project Coordinator within the research area of Clinical Diabetology and Metabolism. The position is located at Uppsala University Hospital.

Responsibilities:

You will participate in research studies in collaboration with other research nurses, physicians, and laboratory researchers within the research group Clinical Diabetology and Metabolism. This includes clinical projects concerning diabetes, obesity, and metabolism. You will coordinate and carry out examinations (clinical assessments, sample collections, and metabolic load tests) in research projects evaluating disease causes, diagnostics, and interventions. The role also involves coordination within research projects with study participants as well as with our cell and tissue laboratory.

Qualifications:

Licensed nurse with clinical experience. Excellent proficiency in Swedish and English.

You are independent, responsible, flexible, and results-oriented. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Desirable/Additional Qualifications:

Experience from clinical work in a relevant area, e.g., internal medicine, emergency medicine, or endocrinology. Experience of interdisciplinary collaboration. Experience of development or research projects within the biosciences.

About the Position:

The employment is fixed-term for 6 months. The position is full-time. Start date September 1st or by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
