At the Geriatric Acute Care Unit GAVA, you as a nursing assistant will have the opportunity to work closely with elderly, frail patients with complex needs and utilize your full competence in daily work. We are careful to ensure that your working hours are balanced with the rest of your life. Therefore, you have great opportunities to influence your schedule. We offer the 90/10 working time model, which means you work 90 percent but receive 100 percent salary. The majority of the 90 percent is scheduled, while a smaller part is flexible and used to cover illness and leave.

Job Description

At GAVA, you work in interprofessional teams, and as a nursing assistant, you have a significant role as a care coordinator. You are responsible for the patient's basic care, observation, and the patient's immediate environment. You work person-centered, which creates a holistic view of the patient's needs, from medical to social and existential. As a nursing assistant, you are responsible for risk assessment and documenting the patient's potential risks, as well as representing the patient during rounds. The work also involves contact with relatives and/or other professional groups needed to provide the patient with safe care.

You will receive a secure introduction with your own supervisor who is an experienced nursing assistant. After the introduction, you get a mentor who provides the support you need, as well as regular follow-up meetings with your nearest manager.

About You

We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant and enjoy working with elderly patients and want to develop in the care of the elderly. Furthermore, we are looking for you who use knowledge, skills, and abilities in handling patient meetings or care situations. Since you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both in speech and in writing.

You are secure and have an easy time adapting to different situations. You are empathetic, curious, and want to contribute to the best for patients. You thrive as part of an interprofessional team, where all professional categories learn from each other, but it is also important that you can work independently.

It is a given that you contribute with a positive and professional attitude in your work.

Since the work involves documentation and contact with colleagues, patients, and relatives, it is important that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language.
