Health and Stress Medicine is part of the Region of Västra Götaland, comprising the divisions Health and Working Life, region-wide assignments regarding working environment and health, Green Rehab, and the Institute for Stress Medicine. The administration's mission is to provide occupational health services for the administrations and companies of the Region of Västra Götaland, as well as to prevent ill health and stress and improve the working environment through research, knowledge dissemination, and our region-wide assignments. Together, our operations create value for employees in the Region of Västra Götaland (VGR) and promote a good working environment and sustainable working life.

Health and Working Life is the internal occupational health service of the Region of Västra Götaland, consisting of 5 units represented in Skaraborg, Fyrbodal, Södra Älvsborg, and Gothenburg. We work from a systematic work environment perspective (SAM) within the areas of medicine, ergonomics, health promotion, environment, technology, and behavioral science. We participate in several projects, both regional and national, within working environment, health, and rehabilitation, and offer good development opportunities for our employees.

Responsibilities

As an occupational physician with us, your task is to be an independent resource for the region's managers to increase health in working life together with their employees. You are medically responsible in individual cases and rehabilitation processes and work with, among other things, medical examinations and tripartite meetings. We work in a cross-professional team with occupational health nurses, psychologists, behavioral scientists, health strategists, ergonomists, and work environment engineers. We work from a promoting, preventive, and rehabilitative perspective at the individual, group, and organizational levels. Our most important task within Health and Working Life is to be able to see the connections between health, working environment, and organization. All employees, regardless of profession, also function as work environment consultants in various customer assignments. This can involve training, investigations regarding work-related ill health, and more.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician and have specialist training in occupational health services/occupational and environmental medicine, or have specialist competence in another patient-oriented clinical specialty. Experience in occupational health services is meritorious. You have the ability to think in a broader and long-term perspective, see the value in using the entire team's competence, and wish to work in a promoting and preventive manner. The work is highly independent, and you have a good ability to take personal responsibility and organize your work. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability, where a holistic view, sensitivity, and communication skills are important elements.

Other

Assignments may take place throughout the Region of Västra Götaland, hence a driver's license is required. Working hours are Monday–Friday with the possibility of flexible hours.
