Adult education covers basic and upper secondary level education, Swedish for immigrants instruction, special pedagogical activities, adapted education for adults, vocational upper secondary education, and vocational college programs. Adult education also serves as a learning center that includes, among other things, exam services, study and career guidance, a library, and pedagogical support for students and citizens. In total, adult education employs approximately 90 staff members, of whom about 65 are teachers.
The position is part of the administrative group, which consists of functions/roles within school administration, including admission, planning, personnel, finance, and exam services. The group also includes caretakers, IT caretakers, IT pedagogues, receptionists, library assistants, communicators, and café staff.
Your responsibilities
As an IT Caretaker, you are responsible for ensuring that the premises and environments of adult education are functional, pleasant, and accessible for both staff and students. The role involves handling basic service and support, as well as troubleshooting and configuring computers, tablets, telephony, printers, networks, conference equipment, and projectors. You will also work with purchasing, ordering, and inventory management, and be responsible for the distribution and return of equipment, password management, and user support for teachers and students.
Responsibilities also include handling mail and recycling, support regarding vehicles, locks, and access control systems, and fire safety work. You are also responsible for gardening, furnishing, and interior design, as well as purchasing consumables. Basic maintenance of premises is also part of the role.
The assignment also includes ensuring that relevant routines and checklists are current and updated, and contributing to the development and improvement of the organization's working methods. You participate in safety work through safety rounds and systematic fire protection work, and keep yourself updated on laws and guidelines within the field.
Adult education currently works with a “1-to-1” solution, meaning that each user in certain school forms has access to their own computer or tablet. The IT environment consists of both PC and Mac.
Who are you?
We are looking for a service-oriented and development-focused caretaker with very good IT skills. The position requires a minimum three-year upper secondary education in the technical field or other education that the employer deems equivalent, as well as at least three years of professional experience as an IT technician, caretaker, or similar. You should have good knowledge of AV equipment. A B-class driver's license is required. You have experience in service and maintenance work and are motivated by developing and broadening your knowledge in the field. You communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, and thrive in an environment where you meet students and staff daily.
It is an advantage if you have a university degree in systems technology or equivalent, experience working in an Apple environment within schools or teaching, and network training or similar competence. Several years of experience working in an Apple environment and good knowledge of M365 are also seen as advantages, as is experience in security and fire protection work, as well as gardening. Basic maintenance of premises occurs, making knowledge of materials and experience with basic carpentry work advantageous.
