About Us
We are a full-service port and specialists in handling everything from containers and RoRo to forest products and liquid bulk. However, we do much more than that. Our strength lies in working closely and collaboratively with our customers. This allows us to understand the entire business and create unique customer solutions that optimize flows and increase efficiency, often leading to cost savings and increased competitiveness. We handle the entire logistics chain, from start to finish, ensuring everything in between runs smoothly.
The operations are run by Hallands Hamnar AB, owned by the municipalities of Halmstad and Varberg. The port plays a central role in developing the region as a strong logistics hub. The company is in an exciting phase with long-term development of its organization, new business areas, and expansion of the port facilities. Employees are our most important resource, which is why we value a good work climate. Offering opportunities for wellness, safety, and competence development is a given.
About the Role
As part of our facilities department, you will become a key employee in our daily operations. It is a job with great variety where you move across the entire operation and work closely with colleagues, contractors, and other departments within the company. At our company, there is always something to do – and you will have significant responsibility to drive the work forward.
You will be part of a team of four, consisting of two technicians, a property maintenance worker, and an electrician. We also have two colleagues in Varberg with whom we collaborate closely.
We maintain our facilities according to internal routines and current authority requirements. The department functions as a service function for our production and our tenants.
Responsibilities
At the facility, we work with, among other things:
- Property services – simple electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work, as well as inspections of fire equipment, ventilation, and water samples.
- Handling fault reports – either in-house or via contractors.
- Railway maintenance – inspection of tracks, cleaning, and lubrication of switches.
- Maintenance of technical installations and maritime safety equipment.
- Contact with contractors and follow-up of their work.
- Documentation during construction and renovations.
- Responsibility for the operation of oil pipelines and oil separators.
- Daily FU-routines (Company Training/Management) at the facility.
- Remedial work within electrical systems.
- Ground and construction work.
- Emergency assignments within our management area.
Who We Are Looking For
- Upper secondary education in property, technology, or maintenance – or equivalent experience that the employer deems comparable.
- Valid B-driver's license (manual transmission).
- Proficient in using Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Experience in technical maintenance work.
- Experience with maintenance systems.
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Merits
- Machine permits (wheel loader, forklift).
- Experience as a group or team leader.
- Knowledge of machine and construction drawings.
- Hot Work Certificate.
- Knowledge of Lean / 5S.
Personal Qualities
We believe you are someone who likes to take initiative and thrives when solving problems together with others. You are social, service-oriented, and find it easy to collaborate with both colleagues and contractors.
The work involves many contact points and varying tasks – so flexibility and a positive attitude will take you far. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We have high safety standards, so candidates who are considered for employment will be required to provide a certificate from the Swedish Police Authority (Swedish Criminal Record). We also conduct random alcohol and drug tests.
A six-month probation period may apply.
