Hällsboskolan Mälarhöjden

Hällsboskolan Mälarhöjden in Stockholm receives students with severe speech and language disorders from preschool class through grade 7. Our teaching focuses on language and communication. The goal is for students to gain the prerequisites to reach knowledge goals, be active participants in various social contexts, and develop as individuals.

Hällsboskolan Mälarhöjden is facing exciting changes as the school will soon expand with classes up to grade 10. The 2026/2027 school year will see the start of a temporary branch school on Södermalm while waiting for new premises in Salem Municipality for the 2027/2028 school year.

All schools offer after-school activities.

At our schools, we follow the student's development, and you will lead in a school environment where both development and collaboration are important in daily work.

WORK ASSIGNMENTS

As a student assistant at Hällsboskolan Mälarhöjden, you work closely with the students throughout the school day and in the after-school care. Together with the mentor, you identify the students' prerequisites and support needs, and contribute to creating an accessible and inclusive learning environment.

The work involves student-centered interventions in both the classroom and after-school activities. Your working hours vary during the week and may involve opening or closing the after-school care. You are flexible in your placement and work in different student groups based on the needs of the operations.

The assignment includes:

  • carrying out and being responsible for planned break activities and supporting students' social interaction
  • collaborating closely with various professions at the school
  • contributing to collaboration with guardians together with the student health team
  • actively participating in meetings, planning, and information exchange with colleagues

As a student assistant, you are an important part of creating a safe, structured, and developmental environment for the students. The work is based on the special school curriculum and always has the student's best interests in focus.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who:

  • Have at least education at the upper secondary level.
  • Have good knowledge of the Swedish language.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Knowledge and experience from working with students with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPF).
  • Experience working with students with speech and language disorders.
  • Multilingualism.
  • Knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).
  • Knowledge of Word, Outlook, InPrint, SymWriter.

We are looking for you who can take great responsibility from the student's perspective, plan your own work long-term, and work independently.

You are secure, responsible, and have a strong commitment to the students' development and well-being. You have good collaboration skills and contribute to a positive and professional work climate together with colleagues.

You are relationship-building and have the ability to meet students with clarity, calmness, and respect even in challenging situations. With your creativity and flexibility, you contribute to creating a meaningful and developmental school day for the students.

You see every student's potential and work actively to strengthen both learning, security, and social development. You also contribute to increasing the understanding of the students' needs, both in the work team and in contact with guardians.

Employment type: Permanent employment.
Duration: Permanent.

A probationary period of 6 months applies.
