We are looking for a licensed radiographer or biomedical analyst for the PET-MR Centre
Are you an experienced specialist with a genuine interest in advanced technology and research? Akademiska Sjukhuset is now looking for new colleagues for our PET Centre within the Imaging and Functional Medicine division.
About Us
We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough trials and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues.
Our Operations
The PET Centre performs high-tech diagnostics using positron emission tomography (PET). This involves injecting radioactively labeled tracers into the patient and studying their distribution in the body using a PET camera. The radionuclides used are very short-lived, which places high demands on logistics, communication, and teamwork.
The PET Centre also conducts extensive clinical research. The department has 2 PET-CT cameras and one simultaneous PET-MR camera. The PET Centre has 25 employees, of whom 3 work with the PET-MR camera. Clinical diagnostics with PET-MR is in the development phase and is expected to develop significantly in the coming years.
Your Role
The work at the PET Centre involves practically preparing and performing PET/MR examinations, as well as handling, storing, and registering measurement data from the examinations. The work is performed together with regular MRT and PET staff.
Your responsibilities include:
- Patient handling
- Handling various PET protocols
- Handling various MR sequences
- Blood sampling
- Participation in the development of new PET-MR protocols
- Participation in general tasks at the PET Centre
The PET-MR camera is used for research and clinical diagnostics with an equal distribution of time. The work is therefore rarely routine. The research consists of clinical projects with a large number of different PET tracer molecules and MR sequences and is often of an exploratory nature. The work takes place only on weekdays, but planned shifted working hours may occur.
The role also includes an administrative function, which may include booking examinations for both PET-MR and PET-CT, as well as preparing invoice documentation for ongoing research studies.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed radiographer or biomedical analyst with very good and documented experience of working with many different PET tracer molecules for both clinical and research studies. Knowledge of handling blood measurement equipment and logistics regarding advanced PET studies is highly meritorious. You should have good computer skills and good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing. Knowledge of GCP and some knowledge of MRT is meritorious. Great importance will be attached to personal qualities and suitability.
Your Competence
We are looking for you who combine a strong patient focus with a genuine interest in advanced technology and research. Since the work fluctuates between clinical routine and research projects, it is important that you are flexible and have an easy time adapting to today's conditions. You work carefully and systematically, are solution-focused, and value close and responsive collaboration with your colleagues in our cross-professional teams.
We Offer
Permanent full-time employment with start date as agreed. Probation period of up to 6 months may apply. We interview continuously, so please send in your application as soon as possible. Appointment may be made before the last application date.
Here you will receive benefits that make a difference. Read more about the benefits on Region Uppsala's website (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/).
