The parishes of Stora Tuna and Torsång have formed a parish union (pastorate) with the same name – one of the larger pastorates in the Diocese of Västerås, located in the heart of Dalarna. About the Position

We are now looking for a church musician who wants to help shape the future of church music in Borlänge. We currently have a rich musical life with several active choirs. Whether you are an organist, a cantor, or on your way to becoming one, there are excellent opportunities to shape the content of the position based on your competence, experience, and interests. A central part of the role is to meet parishioners through music at funerals, weddings, baptisms, and services. With us, you will become an important part of an engaged team where music plays a natural role in parish life.

Responsibilities

Among other things, you will:

• Play at church services such as worship services, baptisms, weddings, and funerals
• Lead and develop choir activities (children, youth, and/or adults – depending on your profile)
• Contribute to the parish's musical life and participate in the planning and development of services and music events
• Collaborate with other employees in the parish union

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is:

• Trained as a cantor or organist, or currently training to become one
• Has a genuine interest in church music and parish life
• Is engaged, cooperative, and proactive
• Wants to develop the activities together with colleagues and parishioners

Conditions

The position is full-time, and the start date is by agreement. Probationary employment may apply. You will serve throughout the entire parish union, which covers an area of approximately 20 kilometers. You must be a member of the Church of Sweden and share the church's faith and values. To travel between our various churches and chapels, you must have a valid driver's license (Category B) and access to a car.
