Your workplace

You will work within Child and Student Health Services, which is part of the Education, Culture, and Leisure sector. This sector is responsible for preschools, after-school centers, primary schools, upper secondary schools, and adapted primary schools.

Your workplace will be located at one of our primary schools in Mölnlycke. Of the two positions, one (80%) is located at a junior high school (grades 7–9) with 40% and a primary/lower secondary school (grades F–6) with 40%. The second position (70%) is located at a primary/lower secondary school (grades F–6).

You will work to ensure that all children, young people, and guardians in Härryda Municipality feel satisfied and safe at school.

As a school nurse with us, you will work in an engaged and pleasant team where we support and help each other to succeed.

You will receive good support and guidance from the school nursing group, your mentor, school doctor, and unit manager. We also have close and good cooperation with psychologists, counselors, special educators, principals, and other staff. You will be offered regular supervision and good opportunities for professional development.

Your role

As a school nurse, you are part of the school's student health team and contribute medical expertise at the organizational, group, and individual levels. In your role, you collaborate with counselors, special educators, school psychologists, school doctors, and principals. The team's task is to work health-promoting and preventive together with other school staff to strengthen our students. Collaboration and helping across professional boundaries in complex cases are important to us.

You are also an important resource in the overall development work of Child and Student Health Services.

Your duties as a school nurse include, for example:

• Carrying out EMI's health program, which involves working independently with health checks, health conversations, and vaccinations.
• Collaborating with guardians.
• Providing information, consultation, and supervision within the medical field.
• Implementing measures at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
• Collaborating with external actors such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), social services, habilitation services, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Requirements for the position

• We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with further education as a school nurse, or within open healthcare or healthcare for children and adolescents.
• It is important that you are interested in working with children and young people and want to help them have a positive school experience.
• Experience working as a school nurse is meritorious.
• Good ability to communicate in speech and writing in Swedish is a prerequisite for the position.
