Special Educator at Täljegymnasiet – Help Build the Support Organization of the Future!
About Täljegymnasiet:
Täljegymnasiet is Södertälje Municipality's largest municipal school, with approximately 680 students. In addition to the nationally preparatory programs (Natural Science, Social Science, Economics, and Technology), we offer individualized alternatives within the Introduction Program and IB (International Baccalaureate), where the working language is English. The school also has students who combine their studies with elite sports training (NIU).
About the Role
We are looking for a special educator who wants to be a key figure in a larger development project focused on the Social Science Program.
The project is driven in close collaboration with:
- Teachers
- Student Health Services
- Deputy Principal
- Project Manager
- Municipal Resource Center (with development teachers, special needs educators, and cross-professional teams)
The project's goal is to strengthen goal achievement, school engagement, and student motivation. You will play a central role in developing, testing, and establishing a completely new support organization, with the ambition that this successful approach will be spread to the entire school.
Your Responsibilities
As a special educator in the project, you will:
- Work both closely with individual students and cross-professionally with colleagues
- Participate in the planning, organization, and construction of a new support structure
- Collaborate closely with the Resource Center and their special pedagogical and educational expertise – a collaboration that offers excellent opportunities for collegial learning, cross-professional cooperation, and joint planning
- Be a driving force in the project and in the school's long-term development work
You will have a unique opportunity to help develop and build a new support organization for students in the Social Science Program. The ambition is to create an approach that becomes successful and can be spread to the entire operation. This is a role where you can make a real impact – on both the students' daily lives and the school's future organization.
Who Are You?
Requirements:
- Licensed upper secondary school teacher
- Special educator or special needs educator with experience in student-facing work
- Good experience in investigating, documenting, and following up on support measures
- Ability to work in a structured, systematic, and traceable manner
- Confident in working based on scientific grounds and evidence-based methods
Merits:
- Special educator degree with a focus on Swedish
- Experience working successfully with support measures at the upper secondary level
- Experience with evidence-based support models such as RTI (Response to Intervention)
Personal Qualities
We place great importance on personal qualities and are looking for someone who:
- Wants to contribute actively to joint development work
- Thrives in cross-professional collaborations and sees the strength in teamwork
- Is both relationship-building and analytical
- Enjoys driving development – building new things, not just maintaining
- Has a strong commitment to strengthening students' opportunities to succeed
What We Offer
As one of Södertälje Municipality's approximately 6,000 employees, you will become part of an organization that values development, quality, and job satisfaction. With us, you get:
- Secure employment conditions
- Generous wellness allowance
- Option to exchange holiday day supplements for extra days off
- Good opportunities for education and competence-enhancing initiatives
- Opportunity for flexible working hours in some operations
