About the Unit
The Sea Department is a division belonging to the Naval Staff. The Muskö Sea Section is one of four sections belonging to the Sea Department; the other sections are located in Gothenburg, Karlskrona, and Visby. The Muskö Sea Section's task is to support the Naval Staff's operations in Muskö.
The position is titled Systems Engineer and involves working with the operation, maintenance, and development of the command and communication systems that the section supports. On-call duty is a natural part of the work. The section also participates in the Navy's training activities when extra technical support is needed.
Main Responsibilities
- Independently or in a work team perform maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, modifications, and documentation on systems and equipment.
- Work proactively with the development and maintenance of systems and equipment.
- If necessary, you may need to act in a supervisory role in your function; you collaborate with customers and suppliers and support customers with technical issues.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- A 3-year upper secondary education with a focus on IT/Technical track or equivalent knowledge that can be assessed as comparable.
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
- Experience working with IT-based systems and troubleshooting them.
- Driver's license category B.

MERITORIOUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education with a focus on networks and servers.
- Experience with installation and configuration.
- Experience with radio and communication systems.
- Transmission technology, i.e., coaxial, fiber optics, etc.
- Information security.
- Signal security.

Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.

As part of this work, the Swedish Armed Forces have organized a Naval Staff for the command of the Naval units. The Naval Staff is established in Muskö in Haninge Municipality.
