The Role of the Psychologist

As a psychologist, you work with treatment individually, in groups, and via digital healthcare meetings. You provide individual advice, support, and treatment to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health issues, such as worry, anxiety, depression, stress, psychosomatic conditions, and relationship problems. You collaborate with schools, social services, and other partners when deemed valuable. You will have the opportunity to continue building our digital support program aimed at parents and adolescents.

Your duties include mapping the mental health of children and young people. You make qualified assessments and work further with relevant treatment interventions. As a psychologist, you are also involved in the unit's continuous and important development work.

In the work, together with our cross-professional team, involves collaborating with other child and adolescent services within the region and municipality. You will also have the opportunity to participate in county-wide process work.

Your Future Workplace

Child and Adolescent Health Services targets children and young people from preschool class up to 17 years old with mild to moderate mental health issues. By taking a holistic perspective on the child's entire daily life, we can make a big difference with short, targeted interventions such as individual and group counseling, as well as parental support. We also offer online CBT for young people.

Those who work here are psychologists, counselors, nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, and healthcare administrators. We work in a team-based manner and are keen on developing the operations for the better. We often collaborate with schools and social services. Child and Adolescent Health Services in Huskvarna also cooperate closely with corresponding clinics in Nässjö and Värnamo.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist. If you have CBT training level 1, we see that as positive. You possess good knowledge regarding the mental health of children and young people. We would like you to have experience in supporting and treating children and young people with mental health issues as well as parental support.

To thrive in the job, you should have a good ability to structure, plan, and focus on your work yourself. You have a great interest in working with children, young people, and their families. You are stable and secure as a person and have a good ability to listen and communicate, and are also good at putting yourself in someone else's perspective or situation. You enjoy giving adequate advice, have an understanding of how others take in information, and have the ability to assess whether further contact is needed. We would appreciate it if you had a forward-thinking approach to work-related issues.
