Department Manager for Sävar Health Center

Region Västerbotten operates a broad primary care service throughout Västerbotten County, meeting patients of all ages, both in urban areas and in rural regions. With 33 health centers and medical clinics, we are where you are. We actively engage in research and development and utilize medical results to offer high-quality care where the patient is involved. We want our employees to be involved, have influence, and feel proud to work in primary care. Key areas of development for us are needs-adapted care offerings and the development of digital services. Primary Care Area North is a basic unit consisting of four health centers: Ersboda, Mariehem, Sävar, and Robertsfors health centers.
Sävar Health Center offers good health and medical care to the population in the district, located 15 km north of Umeå. At the health center, over 20 experienced employees with broad competence in health and medical care work. The health center has a robust, well-functioning, and open work climate where we together meet and care for the population in the catchment area.
We are now looking for a Department Manager who wants to continue developing the good work climate we have at our workplace.

Job Description
As a Department Manager with us, you see the big picture and the potential, and you boldly move us forward.
You act as a role model, work to create common visions, and release the capacity for action in your operations. You challenge and develop, as well as encourage and highlight your employees. You take responsibility for your operations based on your authority and represent the employer by leading and developing towards decided goals for the benefit of the Region. The assignment includes full responsibility for personnel, operations, and budget. Working environment, patient safety, and quality are important focus areas in your work. Other common tasks include employee interviews, performance reviews, recruitment, and staffing.
As a Department Manager, you report directly to the Operations Manager, who regularly checks in and follows up on your assignment. You are part of the basic unit's management group, which means you are an important team player in the strategic work. We drive and develop our basic unit together in good dialogue with the employees.
You will have close collaboration with other Department Managers, and together you are responsible for the operations' goals and assignments. You will also have close collaboration with HR partners, controllers, other support functions, and fellow managers. We will adapt the introduction based on your needs, and you will have opportunities for competence development in your leadership and management through the leadership programs arranged by Region Västerbotten.
Qualifications
For the assignment as Department Manager, you have a relevant university education or alternatively other education or experience that the employer considers equivalent. It is meritorious if you have experience working as a manager, including personnel and budget responsibility. Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have experience in health and medical care, preferably in primary care.
You are accustomed to expressing yourself well in speech and writing, in both Swedish and English.
In the role, you are expected to be confident in your leadership and have good collaboration skills. As a person, you are flexible with improvisational skills because you will need to solve issues that arise in everyday life. You nurture and drive issues forward while also valuing routines and predictability. You have the ability to think strategically in both the short and long term. As a leader, you are receptive and stable; you value a positive collaborative climate and are clear in your communication. To succeed in the assignment, you should be a team player who thrives with both independent work and collaborative work.

The assignment as a manager within Region Västerbotten is a time-limited appointment usually for 4 years, combined with a permanent employment within your area of competence.
