Art Teacher Grades 4-9, 50%

Do you want to work in an international environment with a clear pedagogical policy? For the upcoming school year, we are looking for a qualified Art teacher for grades 4-9. We are a school covering grades 4-9, and all teachers here need to be comfortable teaching these age groups.

About You

As a person, you are flexible, a dedicated team player with a positive attitude towards your subject. You are creative and willing to go the extra mile for your students and colleagues. You possess the tools to create a good learning environment in the classroom where your clear leadership and teaching style are key to your students' success.

You can adapt your teaching to reach different students and can, in collaboration with our student health team and special educators, work inclusively with students who have special needs. For us, continuous, clear feedback to students and guardians is a must, and you see it as a natural part of your teaching. In this feedback, you provide information on both progress and areas for development and improvement.

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher for grades 4-9 with qualifications in Art and who want to teach students in an international work environment. You meet your students' needs and as a mentor to 16 students, you strive for every student to reach their full potential, regardless of their background. You have a positive view of humanity, are a team player, and have the ability to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. The language of instruction in Art is English or Swedish, but good knowledge of English is a prerequisite as many in the staff are English-speaking.

About the Job

The job description includes, in addition to common teacher duties such as planning, teaching, grading, and follow-up, mentoring students in one of the classes you teach. You need to be available for meetings with guardians, students, and colleagues, and actively work to uphold IES's values and vision.

Here, the focus is on learning and a calm environment where school routines and rules are followed by both students and staff. A pleasant atmosphere and a good collaborative climate are key words behind our success. This is also the foundation for creating a red thread that guides and supports our students through their schooling and helps them reach their goals. Art is taught in half-classes in a fully equipped art room for the subject.

About the School

International English School Nacka (IESN) is an independent school with 940 students. The school opened in August 2010 and is located in Nacka Strand with good connections to Slussen and central Stockholm. We offer a calm and secure work environment where mutual respect between students and between students and staff permeates the operations. Teachers and students come from all over the world and thereby bring experience, knowledge, and new opportunities to the school.

Employment Conditions

The position is a 50% holiday service position and permanent after a 6-month probation period. To apply, you need a valid extract from the Swedish Police Authority's register of convictions (belastningsregistret) for work in schools.

Start Date: As soon as possible or no later than August 6, 2026.

Interviews are held continuously during the application period, and the position may be filled before the application period ends.

Apply here via IES Careers (https://apply.engelska.se/). For more information about our school, visit our website, www.engelska.se (http://www.engelska.se).

Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication amongst the staff is English.

IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups at compulsory school level with 48 schools and around 32,000 students across the country. IES has grown steadily and maintained quality since 1993.

N.B. Prior to any offer of employment at IES, a criminal background check is required for all applicants. In Sweden, this is an extract from belastningsregistret from Polismyndigheten and from abroad, this is a record extract from an equivalent police governing body.
