Vocational Teacher for Care and Nursing Program 50%, Torekällgymnasiet

Torekällgymnasiet is Södertälje's municipal upper secondary school offering introductory programs and national vocational preparatory programs. We are a small school with approximately 300 students, which makes it easy to get to know all students and staff. We have well-equipped, purpose-built method rooms and lecture halls that enable qualified and varied teaching. Here, you can truly make a difference and work closely with both students and colleagues.

We are now looking for a new colleague for our Care and Nursing Program, where you will teach vocational subjects, both on our national program and on our vocational introductory program. We are looking for you who are trained as a care teacher or who are about to complete your training. The position is a fixed-term appointment of 50% for the school year, starting in week 33.

Your professional experience is important, and we would like your experience to be current and that you are trained as a nurse.

In addition to subject competence, it is your leadership and relational competence that will be the most important tools in the teaching role. Here we work to create motivation and understanding for the profession that students will enter after their education. Therefore, it is important that you can motivate and engage students. You need to be a confident leader in the classroom and have a good understanding of the school's compensatory mission. It is of great importance that you have a flexible approach where you put the student's best interest at the center and are ready to guide students in different ways towards different goals using different strategies. You need to be creative and skilled at varying the teaching so that theoretical and practical elements are included in all courses.

Collaboration with working life is a natural part of your work, and we collaborate to prepare students for a future profession. You work closely with your subject colleagues and with colleagues in your development group where you collaborate on the students' entire study path. You have much support from the school's study coaches who work directly with the students. The school has an experienced student health team and a driven lead teacher group that also provides support in the work in various ways. Students' school history is often marked by failures and school self-confidence is low. We are looking for you who, together with others in your team, create an accessible environment and a motivating climate for all students.

Who are you?

Requirements:

• We are looking for you who are a licensed care teacher or who are about to complete your studies for vocational teacher certification.
• Current, documented, and relevant professional experience.

Merits:

• Experience of teaching at an upper secondary school, both national and introductory programs.
• Documented competence in low-affective handling/interaction.
• Experience of language- and knowledge-developing working methods.

Personal qualities:

• You have high relational competence and you are a confident person with great personal maturity who has experience working based on low-affective handling/interaction.
• You see students' ability to develop as something natural and you see opportunities instead of obstacles.
• You want to take on the challenge of following students with different pedagogical needs and leading each one towards increased knowledge and independence.
• As you will collaborate with several different professional categories and other authorities, your ability to communicate and collaborate is important.

Torekällgymnasiet is Södertälje's municipal vocational upper secondary school. The school has a strong connection to working life and industries. Here we focus on professional pride and create a holistic education through collaborations between subjects in projects linked to the profession. After completing their education, students can go directly into working life or continue their studies. At Torekällgymnasiet, students can also combine their studies with elite sports by applying for the NIU (National Program for Student Athletes) education.

The school offers vocational introductory programs in Construction and Civil Engineering, Care and Nursing, and Children and Leisure, as well as the national vocational programs in the same areas, plus the Electrical and Energy Program and the Plumbing and Property Program.
