The Role of Central Lead Supervisor

The assignment as a central lead supervisor entails overall responsibility for the supervision offered to dentists within general dental care. This means that, in close collaboration with managers and supervisors at the Public Dental Health Services, directing, leading, evaluating, and developing processes to ensure equitable and secure supervision with high quality, which generates quality-assured and equitable dental care for those we serve – our residents.

Examples of tasks:

• Develop and clarify the Public Dental Health Services' concepts and programs for supervision.
• Systematically follow up on supervision through evaluation and compilation with those who supervise and those receiving supervision.
• Work on strategies for competence development and learning within supervision together with the aforementioned partners.
• Build and lead networks for those who supervise dentists.
• Coach, support, and be available for clinical supervisors.
• Be available for the dentist receiving supervision in special cases.
• Work on the development of and participate in induction/development programs for dentists.
• Work with utilizing digital opportunities.

The assignment as a supervisor-responsible dentist is estimated at 60%, and the remaining time you will work clinically at one of the county's clinics. Even the clinical part of your position will likely include supervision of newly hired dentists at the clinic.

Natural partners include, in addition to managers and supervisors, the VFU-responsible dental hygienist, LIA-responsible dental assistant, as well as the education function and the unit for HR, learning, and competence. In the role, you also have close collaboration with Futurum in the County of Jönköping and the study director for work-integrated learning.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with start date upon agreement. Your placement is at the Public Dental Health Services' leadership staff at Rosenlund Health Centre in Jönköping, and you report to the Business Manager.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have a dental degree with a Swedish dental license. You have worked for at least five years in the profession, preferably more, and have both an interest in and experience in supervising others. It is meritorious if you have completed a supervisor training at the university level or equivalent. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a requirement. You also need to be comfortable with the Office package. A driver's license for a passenger car is a requirement as we have clinics throughout the county, which means travel within Jönköping County occurs.

You are confident in yourself, your profession, and your role as a leader. You have a genuine interest in leadership and have the ability to motivate and create engagement in others. With your pedagogical insight, you have a good understanding of how different people absorb knowledge based on their own prerequisites. Your tasks involve many internal and external contacts, which requires good collaboration skills and a talent for building and maintaining good relationships.

The assignment is very independent, and you need to have good ability to drive your work and your own processes forward. This requires that you take personal responsibility for your tasks. You also need to be able to plan and prioritize your work in a structured and efficient manner.

In the role, you may need to handle several issues in parallel, which means you need to be flexible and have the ability to adapt when conditions change. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
