At the Eye Clinic, we meet patients with virtually all types of eye diseases that we diagnose and treat at the clinic. We provide both outpatient and inpatient care and consist of clinics, operating departments, care beds at other clinics, as well as a syncentral (eye center). We provide county healthcare to residents in the central and western parts of Östergötland – and highly specialized care to patients from Jönköping, Kalmar, and Östergötland County.

Job Description

As a new employee, you will receive an individual introduction where you will have good opportunities for further development and variation. The day surgical care is provided from pre- and post-operative wards, and most of our newly operated patients can go home the same day after a few hours of monitoring on the eye operating department. We have a close collaboration with the eye day clinic (pre- and post-operative day wards), which patients come to directly after surgery. Sedated patients are located at Central Operation US where we also have an operating room and an eye day clinic.

On weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, we also receive acute eye patients who need to see the on-call doctor. In addition to working at the Eye Clinic's eye operating unit, you will also be introduced to working at PolOp (Polyclical Operations) and IVT (Intravitreal Injection), where you work in a team with nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors.

The Eye Operating Unit is open Monday to Friday from 07:00–17:00 and Saturdays and Sundays (on-call/readiness) from 07:00–19:00. Surgeries take place between 07:00–17:00 and readiness on Saturdays and Sundays from 07:00–19:00. We have every fifth weekend off.

About You

You are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on emergency care. Experience in pre- and post-operative care or surgical care is meritorious. We would like you to have previous experience working in Cosmic. Since you will communicate with patients, relatives, colleagues, and in some cases authorities, it is a requirement that you have good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing.

You use knowledge, skills, and abilities in handling during patient meetings or care situations.
