What we offer

At the eye clinic, we meet patients with virtually all types of eye diseases, which we diagnose and treat at the clinic. In addition to the outpatient clinic, the eye clinic consists of an operating unit, a day ward, and a vision center. We provide county healthcare to residents in the central and western parts of Östergötland, as well as highly specialized care for patients from Jönköping, Kalmar, and Östergötland County.

The eye outpatient clinic consists of orthoptists, ophthalmic nurses, general nurses, optometrists, opticians, and assistant nurses. We work closely together with doctors and healthcare administrators.

Job Description

As an orthoptist, you work with your own orthoptic outpatient clinic, but there is also the possibility to work part-time in other activities at the clinic.

The clinic is open on weekdays from 07:30-17:00, closed on weekends and public holidays. Individual schedule by agreement, 40-hour work week.

Work Group

The team for children and strabismus meets regularly and is responsible for the further development regarding children and squint. The group includes orthoptists and four pediatric ophthalmologists, as well as ophthalmic nurses and opticians who handle certain groups of children. In the autumn, we will also be able to perform strabismus surgery.

About You

You are a trained orthoptist. If you are a licensed ophthalmic nurse with an interest in working with children, you are also welcome to apply for the position.

Previous experience working as an orthoptist is meritorious but not a requirement. Experience in relevant or related areas is also meritorious.

Since you work in constant dialogue with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other operations, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing. You also need to be able to handle different IT systems to perform daily healthcare work.

We work closely together and need good communication to successfully solve the tasks we face in everyday life. Therefore, the position suits you who enjoy collaboration and are receptive and communicative towards both colleagues, patients, and relatives.
