Production Planning & Development

We manufacture glasses and contact lenses within the field of special optics, and our products make a significant difference for users, giving them a better everyday life. All manufacturing takes place in Mölnlycke using advanced processes, encompassing everything from design and development, precision turning, grinding, and surface treatment to assembly and quality control.

Every order is unique and personal, placing high demands on competence from order receipt to delivery. At Multilens, we work without hierarchy across all boundaries, with short decision-making paths and quick action. In the Nordic countries, we sell and distribute ourselves, while in the rest of the world, we work with several distributors.

About the role

As the person responsible for Production Planning & Development, you report to the Production Manager and work closely with several teams on the planning, follow-up, and development of daily manufacturing of special optics. You will become the contact point between all departments involved in the chain from order to delivery – and the one ensuring that our customers receive the right products at the right time. Here you will have a varied daily routine with a focus on development and driving improvement work, with a strong customer focus.

Responsibilities for Production Planning & Development:

Orders are received within the customer service department, and together with them, you will develop the best flow for production planning and delivery information.

• Responsibility for creating and developing production schedules/run plans that make a difference – you ensure that we are always one step ahead and can provide each customer with the correct delivery time in optimized flows, based on orders, forecasts, and capacity.
• Participation in planning meetings and driving continuous improvements, which may involve everything from time studies and machine optimization to working with suppliers of materials and machines.
• Close collaboration with purchasing to develop a process for material procurement that ensures continuous production.
• Process development is key to continued development and improvement – you drive and implement new working methods and develop our capabilities.
• Daily prioritization and rescheduling of production in the event of changed conditions, delays, or disruptions – the customer must know when delivery can take place!
• Monitoring delivery precision, productivity, and other KPIs for analysis and understanding of production efficiency and development opportunities.

Education and background

• Post-secondary education in production/manufacturing or equivalent.
• Several years of experience in manufacturing and production/order planning.
• Good experience with business support systems as well as PowerBI or other reporting systems.
• Experience in working with and developing run plans and processes, as well as improvement work.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing, as well as very good communication skills.
