Do you want to help create a safe, stimulating, and educational environment for our students at Tavestaskolan?

Tavestaskolan is a school for grades F-6 with approximately 400 students, including an associated after-school center (fritidshem) and after-school club (fritidsklubb).

Our teaching is built on the Swedish National Curriculum (Lgr 22), grade objectives, term plans, and pedagogical planning with the aim of creating a coherent thread from preschool class to grade six. Our high expectations for students' progression in learning permeate our work. A prerequisite for success is good collaboration between the school, the student, and the guardians. We look at the student's entire school day, where our after-school activities are a natural part for many students. Tavestaskolan's vision is: "Together on a journey of knowledge - seen, heard, and challenged." With this vision in mind, our goal is to contribute to the development and learning of all students, as well as a lifelong desire to learn. We achieve this together through collaboration, trust, and community.

Your responsibilities

As a colleague in our After-School work team, you will be one of three staff members at the After-School Club. Within the framework of school collaboration, you will also act as support for one of our grade-level teams.

As a teacher for the after-school center, you plan and carry out pedagogical activities that promote children's social and creative development. You work actively with values-based issues and ensure that all students feel included and involved. You are an important part of the school as a whole and contribute to good collaboration between the school and the after-school club.

During school hours, you are part of the grade-level team for the intermediate grades. You act in the best interest of the students during lessons and are responsible for meaningful and active break-time activities. You care about students' well-being and want to drive the work for student safety and comfort. Here, you are a key link in helping and supporting students by meeting them with confidence, clarity, and a low-affective approach.

You will have an active and driving role in developing a developmental, safe, joyful, and varied break-time and after-school activity together with colleagues. This means you should be able to motivate, inspire, and challenge both students and colleagues.

In the afternoons, you work together with two other staff members at our after-school club to provide students with a meaningful and developmental after-school time that strengthens their social and general development. Although the After-School Club itself does not follow Lgr 22, we base our planning on the competencies in Lgr 22. In your home-team, you plan the club's activities both in the long and short term. Together, you are responsible, as part of the school's systematic quality work, for information, planning, implementation of activities, as well as follow-up and evaluation.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is confident, clear, and has a low-affective approach. You are empathetic, sensitive, and have a good ability to build relationships with both students and colleagues. You are creative, proactive, and motivated by planning and carrying out meaningful activities that promote children's social and creative development. You have an inclusive approach to work, are flexible and solution-oriented, and thrive in team collaboration. You are responsible, structured, and have the ability to inspire and challenge others. Commitment to values-based issues and student safety and comfort is a given for you.

Requirements:

  • Licensed teacher for after-school centers

Merits:

  • Good knowledge of school and after-school activities
  • Qualification to teach Home and Consumer Studies for grade 6

Personal qualities:

  • Confident – to create a stable and secure environment for students.
  • Clear – in communication and structure, both with students and colleagues.
  • Empathetic – shows care and understanding for children's needs and feelings.
  • Sensitive – attentive to students' signals and needs.
  • Creative – to plan and carry out stimulating activities.
  • Flexible – adapts to different situations and collaborates in teams.
  • Responsible – takes initiative and contributes to the development of the activity.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
