Previous experience is desired
Stockholm – our capital city of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Workplace Description
Gubbängsskolan is a place where tradition meets the future. Here, in the heart of southern Stockholm, around 700 students from preschool class to grade 9 gather in an environment characterized by security, curiosity, and a desire to learn. With certified teachers, dedicated leisure staff, and a clear vision – to be a school where everyone wants to develop and gains the desire to learn more – we create a daily life filled with both continuity and creativity. Our beautiful buildings from the 1940s hold not only history but also a living community where every student has the opportunity to grow and reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
As a special needs teacher/special educator at Gubbängsskolan, you will play a central role in our work to create the best possible conditions for every student. The assignment spans organizational, group, and individual levels and involves you:
- Planning and structuring support measures together with the deputy principal, special educator, and other colleagues within the student health team.
- Teaching and supervising students in both small teaching groups and in the classroom, with a focus on strengthening their knowledge in core subjects.
- Documenting and conducting special pedagogical assessments that form the basis for appropriate interventions and development.
- Collaborating closely with school leadership, teachers, other staff, and the student health team to create a holistic view of the students' needs.
- Holding dialogue with guardians and external actors to ensure that support for the students is long-term and sustainable.
- Contributing to health-promoting and preventive work, where you switch between a helicopter view and detail level to see both patterns and individual needs.
- Driving development within student health work and being an active part of creating an open working climate where we learn and develop together.
We are looking for you
We are looking for you who, with great commitment and a genuine interest in students' learning, want to help develop Gubbängsskolan at the lower secondary level. You have good subject knowledge in core subjects, especially in mathematics up to grade 9. Knowledge in Natural Science subjects is considered an advantage. You have the ability to see each student's unique needs and opportunities.
- You are confident in your professional role and have experience working with students in need of special support.
- You have strong collaboration skills and enjoy working closely with colleagues.
- You can switch between a holistic perspective and detail level, and see the value in combining documentation, supervision, and teaching.
- You are solution-oriented, curious, and want to contribute to developing both the operations and yourself.
- You easily create good relationships with students, guardians, and external actors.
With us, you have the opportunity to work in an open working climate where we support each other, share knowledge, and together build a school where all students are given the opportunity to reach as far as possible based on their prerequisites.
