We are now looking for a Strategic Buyer to join our electronics team, a role where your understanding of the electronics market will be crucial to our success.

Your Role

As a Strategic Buyer within electronics, you play a key role in developing and securing a competitive supplier base for components such as circuit boards, cabling, connectors, and other electronics-related systems. You work closely with engineering, production, and project teams to understand needs, drive the right business, and manage a rapidly changing global electronics market.

You build strong relationships with specialized suppliers and are responsible for developing long-term strategies within your area, focusing on availability, cost, quality, and risk.

In this role, you will among other things:

• Be responsible for and develop the supplier base within the electronics area
• Develop and implement category strategies for electronics components
• Drive and conduct negotiations with a focus on complex technical business
• Manage RFQ processes related to electronics and evaluate technical and commercial offers
• Work closely with engineering and development teams in projects and programs
• Identify and manage risks related to the supply chain (e.g., component shortages)
• Ensure compliance with Saab's purchasing strategies, policies, and processes

Your Profile

To succeed in this role, we see you as a business-driven and analytical buyer with a genuine interest in technology – preferably specifically electronics. You are used to working strategically but also enjoy diving into details when necessary, especially in technically complex business cases. You have the ability to navigate a global electronics market where availability, lifecycles, and pricing can change rapidly, and you feel comfortable in dialogue with both suppliers and internal engineering functions.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Several years of experience in strategic purchasing, preferably within electronics or related technical areas
• Experience working with electronics components such as circuit boards, cabling, connectors, or similar
• Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into commercial strategies
• Experience in supplier development, negotiations, and long-term business relationships
• Post-secondary education in engineering, economics, or equivalent

The role involves many contact surfaces, both nationally and internationally, requiring you to master Swedish and English very well in both speech and writing. You are accustomed to working in MS Office and have good experience using business systems in your daily work.

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to current regulations for security clearance. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.
