About the Workplace

At Fredrikshovs Slott School, there are just over 300 students. The school is divided into two units: Preschool Class–Grade 3 and Grades 4–9. Thanks to the outstanding results of our graduating students, Fredrikshovs Slott School has, for several years, ranked among the five best primary schools in Sweden according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's statistics.

By forming a cohesive unit from preschool class to grade 9, we create opportunities to work with long-term continuity. We systematically build students' knowledge and skills so that every student can reach their full potential – both academically and personally.

We are now looking for an engaged study and career counselor who wants to contribute to the development of Sweden's best school.

Responsibilities

As a study and career counselor with us, you will support and guide students in their future study and career choices. The role includes, among other things:

• Providing individual study and career counseling to students in various grades.
• Informing about and overseeing educational pathways, upper secondary school choices, and the labor market.
• Collaborating with teachers, mentors, and the student health team.
• Planning and implementing counseling initiatives and information activities.
• Coordinating work practice (PRAO), including contact with workplaces and student placements.
• Supporting students in making well-informed and conscious future choices.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a study and career counselor and have a genuine commitment to the students' development and future.

You are confident in your professional role and have the ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students based on their individual needs and prerequisites. You work in a structured and independent manner and have a knack for creating and maintaining good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and external partners.

We would appreciate it if you:

• Have a clear and professional communication style.
• Are solution-focused and proactive.
• Have good collaboration skills and a positive attitude.
• Are relational and meet each student with empathy, high expectations, and engagement.

Personal suitability will be given great weight.

Other Information

This is a permanent position at 20%. Probationary employment is offered for the first 6 months.

The person offered the position must provide a certificate of no criminal record (police background check) in accordance with the provisions in Chapter 2, Sections 31–33 of the Swedish Education Act.
