We are now looking for you who are interested in the role of Unit Manager with shared leadership at Sabbatsberg Geriatrics, centrally located at Odenplan in Stockholm.

We are looking for you who want to develop care, employees, and leadership with the patient's best interest in focus. The position involves shared leadership together with a colleague manager. One of the managerial responsibilities is for inpatient care with a focus on orthopedics and MRSA (care unit floor 7), the other for medical inpatient care (care unit floor 6).

Together, you are responsible for ensuring the right competence, high quality, efficient flows, good working environment, and sustainable economy based on the organization's goals. You work closely with colleague managers, assistant unit managers, and other key persons to create participation and development in the operations.

About the role

As a Unit Manager, you have a central role in the daily work and lead the operations together with your colleague manager. The shared leadership is based on trust, clear communication, and close collaboration where you complement each other and jointly drive the operations forward.

The role includes among other things:

• leading and supporting employees in daily work
• responsibility for staffing, scheduling, and planning
• developing working methods and driving improvement work
• creating engagement, participation, and team spirit
• ensuring high quality and good patient safety
• developing and strengthening the shared leadership

Qualifications

You are licensed within health and social care and have experience of clinical work within somatic inpatient care.

It is meritorious if you have experience of:

• work leadership or managerial assignments
• change and improvement work
• supervision or educational initiatives
• quality development and development of working methods
• documentation or work related to educational assignments
• previous experience of shared leadership

Personal qualities

We are looking for you who are confident in your profession, communicative, and receptive, with a good ability to create trusting relationships. You are collaborative, structured, and can prioritize even during periods of high tempo. You inspire others through your engagement and your coaching approach, and you see the strength in working closely with other managers to jointly develop the operations.

You have a genuine interest in leadership and are motivated by developing both people and operations together with others. You thrive in a shared leadership where responsibility, decisions, and goals are shared. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.

Practicalities

The employment is a three-year appointment as a Unit Manager with the possibility of extension, as well as a permanent employment in your basic profession.

- employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination, according to current directives, which takes place through occupational health services before employment.

- in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
