Nature Conservation Worker for Östergötland/Linköping

SP Utemiljö is looking for colleagues for our work in forestry and nature conservation.

We work with, among other things, the maintenance of nature reserves, nature conservation thinning, control of invasive species, and other practical tasks in natural and outdoor environments. We are now looking for you who want to work outdoors, enjoy physical work, and have a positive attitude towards varying workdays.

The work is primarily based in Östergötland/Linköping.

Job Responsibilities

As a forestry and nature conservation worker with us, you will mainly work with practical tasks within nature conservation. A large part of the work is performed manually, for example with a spade, machete, or similar hand tools.

The tasks may include, among other things:

• control of invasive species, such as lupine and giant hogweed
• nature conservation thinning in forest and natural environments
• brush management, for example dragging and burning brush in nature reserves
• clearing with brush cutters
• simpler maintenance and upkeep tasks in natural environments
• park work during certain periods, for example during quieter periods within nature conservation assignments or during peak workloads in park maintenance

The work is physically demanding and takes place largely outdoors in varying weather and environments.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is practical, willing to work, and enjoys working with their body. For this position, the right attitude is more important than long experience.

You need to be enduring, have good physical fitness, and be able to handle tasks that are sometimes heavy, repetitive, and weather-dependent. You cooperate well but can also take initiative and see what needs to be done.

Previous experience in nature conservation, clearing, or work in forests and land is positive, but not a requirement. The most important thing is that you want to work, learn, and contribute to a good result.

Requirements

• Category B driver's license for manual transmission

Merits

It is an advantage if you have:

• brush cutter certificate RA/RB
• chainsaw certificate AB or higher
• operator's license for all-terrain vehicles
• previous experience in clearing, nature conservation, forestry work, or similar practical work
• plant knowledge or interest in learning more about plants and invasive species
