About the role

As an animal keeper at Kolosseum, you are part of a team that ensures the highest possible welfare for our Asian elephants, rhinos, and meerkats. You work closely with both the animals and your colleagues in a practical and sometimes intense daily routine where quality and collaboration are crucial.

The role includes among other things:

• Perform daily care such as feeding, cleaning, and enrichment based on the animals' needs.
• Train the animals using modern methods, including work with elephants in protected contact (PC).
• Observe animal behavior, document health, and assist with veterinary work and transport.

About you

At our facility, we work closely with both the animals and each other every day in a practical and periodically intensive job. We are looking for someone who is confident, responsible, and thrives in a team environment where people help each other and maintain a good pace together.

You have a genuine interest in animal welfare and contribute to developing the work by reflecting, collaborating, and sharing experiences. You are also comfortable giving and receiving feedback in a respectful manner.

We would like you to:

• Have at least three years of experience working as an animal keeper in a zoo or wildlife park.
• Have experience working with large animals, such as elephants (advantageous).
• Be responsible, meticulous, and have a good eye for animals.
• Enjoy physical work and have good stamina.
• Have good teamwork skills and contribute to a positive work climate.

A valid driver's license (Category B) is required. Experience operating machinery and work vehicles, such as tractors, is advantageous.

Practical information about the position

The position is a permanent full-time employment (100%) with a 6-month probation period and start date by agreement. Working hours vary and include weekends, public holidays, and evenings during the high season.
