Do you want to build and develop user-friendly websites with social benefit in focus? We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer specializing in React to join our Web Communication team. In this role, you will contribute to a sustainable and secure working life for millions of people, where all surplus goes back to our customers.
What you can expect
As a Frontend Developer, you will become part of a team working agilely in a modern technical environment, primarily focusing on our external website, afa.se. You will work closely with editors, UX/UI designers, a team coach, a Product Owner (PO), and other developers on the team to create accessible, user-centric, and modern interfaces.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Working with component-based frontend development in React.
- Working with CSS frameworks and the CMS Contentful.
- Participating in code reviews, incident management, and improvement initiatives.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has an interest in creating accessible and user-centric interfaces and has good experience with modern development tools.
To succeed in this role, we see that you have:
- At least 6 years of current and relevant work experience as a Frontend Developer in React and Next.js
- Experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Experience working with component-based interfaces and headless CMS solutions, preferably Contentful
- Good understanding of CSS or similar frameworks
- Understanding of and experience with accessibility adaptation (WCAG)
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
We consider the following to be meritorious:
- Experience with cloud-based environments (preferably Azure) and Azure DevOps
- Experience with Storybook for development, documentation, and testing of UI components

Who are we?
Organizationally, you will become part of Department DU4 within the Business Area Digital Development at IT. The role works in a development team reporting to the Communication Department within the newly formed unit Strategy & Communication. The team has a culture where we learn from each other and have fun together. We conduct code reviews and pair-program when needed, and we are keen on quality in everything we do.
Anna Johansson, who is the head of DU4, leads with trust and clear direction. She values openness, collaboration, and that the team feels both responsibility and pride in their work. The team has also won prizes at Afa's internal hackathon, a confirmation of both creativity and team spirit. They have also been awarded a prize for their long-term and structured work with digital accessibility in the CommToAct competition – Digital Inclusion Award.
