Torsvik School (Grades F-9) is one of Sweden's most successful primary schools. Founded in 1906, the school offers a wonderful blend of innovation and tradition. We welcome approximately 360 students in grades 7-9, and the operations are divided into three grade-level teams, as well as a student health team. At Torsvik, we work hard to ensure that all students feel seen and secure.
Lidingö Municipality has 11 municipal primary schools. We focus on knowledge and joyful learning, which is reflected in our good academic results. RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a skilled teacher for Torsvik School who has progressed significantly in their profession and is interested in continuing to develop in their role. You will be part of both a grade-level team and a subject team, collaborating with colleagues in collegial learning to create new knowledge, deepen understanding, and develop teaching. As a teacher, you are responsible for planning, teaching, documentation, assessment, and evaluation of the classes you teach. The position also includes a shared mentorship role at the lower secondary level.
We are looking for someone who has high expectations for students' goal achievement, possesses good pedagogical insight, and is a clear and engaged leader who inspires students to reach their full potential. You have a good ability to plan and conduct teaching in accordance with curricula, subject plans, and current knowledge requirements. You take responsibility for students' development and adapt teaching to their needs to create a secure and stimulating learning environment.
Main responsibilities in your teaching role include planning and implementing professional development based on result follow-ups and analyses in your subjects, as well as generally at the school.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have a teaching license and are qualified as a lower secondary teacher in mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, and technology. You are a clear and secure leader who easily creates engagement and participation in your teaching, and you are accustomed to working with digital tools. Your leadership is relational and characterized by clarity and structure.
You value collaboration and build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You plan, organize, and analyze both your teaching and other tasks in a structured and efficient manner. You have experience working with students in need of special support as well as students with functional variations. Furthermore, you are confident in your leadership role in the classroom and have previous experience with mentorship.
Employment type: Permanent position.
The municipality applies individual salary setting. We are currently seeking two full-time employees (100%) starting August 12, 2026. One position is a permanent employment, and the other is a parental leave substitute until February 2027.
