The Department of Oncology at Linköping University Hospital has overall responsibility for cancer treatment in the South East Sweden healthcare region. The operations are organized into outpatient and inpatient care as well as a radiation therapy unit where patients with general oncological and gynecological oncological diagnoses receive treatment. The unit also includes the clinical trials unit. At the oncology department's treatment clinic, which is part of the outpatient care, outpatient treatment with cytostatics and antibodies is provided. The patient is therefore not admitted but can go home the same day. The unit has 29 treatment stations. Nurses and assistant nurses work diagnosis-oriented together with the department's doctors. We also have a clinic within outpatient care where new and follow-up visits take place, as well as our clinical trials unit where research nurses primarily work with clinical drug trials.

Job Description

As an assistant nurse at the treatment clinic, Oncology Department, you will follow the patient throughout their entire treatment period, both for curative and palliative treatment. You work independently and plan your day based on what is set in your schedule. You are responsible for changing PICC lines for the patients receiving treatment during the day. You are also responsible for checking the voicemail continuously during the day and calling patients if necessary. Furthermore, the tasks may include blood sampling, ECG, etc. The job also involves some administration in Cosmic as the assistant nurse keeps track of test results, bookings, etc.

Work Group

You work in close collaboration with your assistant nurse colleagues, nurses, and the department's diagnosis-specific doctors.

About You

You have a degree from the nursing program or a certified assistant nurse education. We would like you to have worked as an assistant nurse in hospital operations for a couple of years, and previous experience with Cosmic and Tele Q is meritorious.

You have good cooperation skills and contribute to a good work environment through a positive attitude. You are careful and quality-conscious and willing to contribute to the development of the operations. You reflect on and discuss your knowledge and efforts and are positive about giving and receiving feedback. As a person, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You have a structured way of working with the ability to plan and prioritize your work. It is important to you to provide good and safe care. You have the interest, will, and ability to help others and strive to find solutions.
