Responsibilities

As a study and career counselor (SYV) with us, you are responsible for study and career guidance for students in grades F–9. You guide and inform students individually and in groups regarding upcoming study and career choices, and are expected to challenge assumptions and strengthen students' ability to make informed and well-founded decisions.

You work together with teachers and the student health team in a promoting and preventive mission to increase motivation, good student health, and strengthened decision-making skills. Your duties include administration related to upper secondary school admission, planning and follow-up of work experience education (prao) (in collaboration with the prao responsible teacher), as well as revising the school's local study and career guidance plan, in collaboration with the school's other study and career counselors.

The role involves close collaboration with school staff and communication with guardians.

About the Workplace

The primary task of the Child and Education Administration is to offer a safe and stimulating learning environment where we equip children and young people for the future. We also work to promote access to cultural and leisure activities for all residents.

Gröndalsskolan is a grades F-9 school with approximately 900 students and 100 employees. The school has a municipality-wide teaching group and small teaching groups. The school's pedagogues are divided into working groups/subject groups. There is also a student health team at the school where all professions are included. The school is located next to Gröndalsviken commuter train station. Our facilities are largely newly renovated. We have a nice auditorium and a centrally located school library.

What we are looking for in you

To succeed in the role, you have:

• A university degree in study and career guidance
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Digital competence

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience working as a SYV in primary/lower secondary school/knowledge of the primary/lower secondary school's mission regarding study and career guidance
• Experience working in the Upper Secondary School Admission system Indra
• Relevant knowledge about GY25 (the new upper secondary school curriculum)

You work systematically and have the ability to drive issues forward independently. At the same time, you have strong collaboration skills and enjoy working together with others. You are communicative and express yourself well in both speech and writing, adapted to different target groups.
