Åkerblads is an exclusive hotel welcoming weekend guests as well as business and conference guests with high expectations for quality, service, and the overall experience. We are now looking for a passionate and driven Sous Chef who wants to further elevate our gastronomic profile.

The Company

Åkerblads Inn, Hotel & SPA is a family-owned business that has been in the family since the 1400s.

Today, the 19th to 22nd generation of the Åkerblad family works with a strong team to offer guests an unforgettable experience.

The hotel is located in the beautiful and highly regarded TÄLLBERG in Dalarna. For over 100 years, this location has been a destination for celebrities, royalty, and people seeking a moment of peace and harmony.

Åkerblads Inn, Hotel & SPA consists of 73 unique and personally decorated guest rooms, as well as an Inn offering locally produced ingredients of high standard and class for both weekend and conference guests. The hotel is currently classified as a four-star hotel and aims for continuous development, with quality being one of its cornerstones.

Our latest addition to the company is the Spa department, where we offer 3 therapy rooms, 1 duo treatment room, hydrotherapy baths, and a spa suite with its own jacuzzi and sauna. The spa's water experience welcomes guests with a brand new pool area featuring indoor and outdoor swimming year-round. The SPA concept also includes a fully equipped gym, sauna, relaxation areas, product shop, and pool bar.

About the Role

Sous Chef at Åkerblads – Create world-class gastronomy.

As Sous Chef, you are the right hand of the Head Chef and a central leader in the kitchen. You are responsible for daily operations and ensure that every plate leaving the kitchen is of absolute top class – whether it is a tasting menu for weekend guests, an elegant wedding dinner, or an efficient yet flavorful conference lunch.

You combine creativity with structure and have the ability to deliver consistent quality even during intensive service periods.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team in daily work
  • Ensure the highest quality, presentation, and taste
  • Participate in menu development with a focus on seasonality, sustainability, and premium ingredients
  • Plan and execute weddings and conference dinners
  • Responsible for ordering, cost control, and inventory management
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and quality routines
  • Contribute to a professional and flat-hierarchy collaboration between the kitchen and service staff

We are looking for someone who

  • Has extensive experience as a cook, preferably as a Sous Chef or in another leadership role
  • Has worked in a hotel environment or restaurant with high quality standards
  • Is confident in handling both à la carte, conference, and larger events
  • Has clear and inspiring leadership skills
  • Is quality-conscious, business-minded, and solution-oriented
  • Passionates about details, ingredients, and the guest experience
