As a holiday substitute, you help elderly people live a good and independent life. This can involve:

• Support in daily life (meals, care, intimate hygiene, activities)
• Being a reliable companion
• Creating meaningful moments

This is a joint advertisement for all summer jobs within the elderly care sector in the City of Gothenburg. We have workplaces all over Gothenburg; when you apply, you can choose the area that suits you best.

HOME CARE SERVICES

Here you help and support individuals in their own homes. You travel either on foot, by bicycle, or by car. In your work, you receive information about visits on your mobile phone, where you also document what you have done.

• Safety Alarm Home Care
  Here you work together with a colleague and help people with urgent needs. A driver's license and driving experience are required.
• Night Home Care
  You provide support to people at night, together with a colleague. A driver's license and driving experience are also required here.
• Finnish-Speaking Home Care
  Work in home care services in Finnish.
• Sign Language Home Care
  Work in home care services with people who use sign language.

CARE AND SUPPORT RESIDENCES (Elderly Housing)

Here you work together with colleagues to support and help elderly people who live in their own apartments but under the same roof. You work in teams and create meaningful days for the residents.

• Short-Term Unit
  Those living in a short-term unit usually have greater care needs. Care-related education or experience in care is a requirement.
• Sign Language | Åkerhus Care and Support Residence and Home Care
  You help and support people with hearing impairments by using signs as a language.
• Finnish | Glöstorpshöjden and Lövgärdet Care and Support Residences
  Here you work with Finnish-speaking residents.

SOUTHERN ARCHIPELAGO

Do you want to work near the sea in a beautiful archipelago environment? Then you can choose to apply to the Southern Archipelago when you submit your application.

In the Southern Archipelago, there is an opportunity to work in home care or at the Southern Archipelago Care and Support Residence.

The boat ride here takes about 15 minutes from Saltholmen pier. You must be at Saltholmen at 06:00 to take the boat to Styrsö to work a morning shift.

What suits you best?

When you fill in your application, you will have the opportunity to choose both the work area and the geographical location in Gothenburg where you want to work this summer.

Qualifications

Are you curious about people? With us, you meet many people at work, so we are looking for you who are a team player showing consideration and respect. In meetings with others, you are open, positive, and work with care. The days with us are varied, so you need to be able to switch focus and be flexible. You work according to a schedule where you work during the day and evening or at night. As a holiday substitute in elderly care, you also work on weekends.

If you have education or experience working in healthcare, it is meritorious but not a requirement. When you start working with us, you will receive induction and training.

To work with us, you need to:

• Have turned 18 before June 1, 2026.*
• Show a certificate of good conduct from the police. (Specifically for "Work in the home for elderly and people with disabilities")
• Show a valid identity document (passport/national ID card/residence permit).
• Have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Requirements for certain operations:

• For positions within home care, you must be able to cycle and be willing to use a bicycle/e-bike at work.
• For positions within the night/emergency unit of home care, a B-driver's license and driving experience are required. For other home care positions, this is meritorious.
• For positions within the deaf unit, you must be able to use sign language.
• For positions where the Finnish language is used, you must be comfortable communicating in Finnish.

To ensure high quality in our care and support, we would like you, if you do not have healthcare education, to have the necessary prior knowledge so you can further educate yourself to become a healthcare assistant or assistant nurse through adult education. We will prioritize candidates who have the required prior knowledge.
