The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also operates closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. SiS LVM Home Renforsen in Vindeln receives men with alcohol, drug, or combined substance abuse. The institution is tasked with providing care for clients with special resource needs.

Job Description:

We are now looking for a cook for a permanent position. The role of a cook with us involves planning, preparing, and cooking nutritious meals as well as special diets for the institution's clients. You will prepare approximately 25 portions of lunch and dinner from Monday to Friday and prepare meals for the weekend. The goal is that the majority of all food is cooked from scratch. The work is carried out in collaboration with an economic assistant and other staff members at the institution.

The role includes among other things:

  • Responsibility for leading and distributing work in the institution's kitchen, including prep and post-work.
  • Ensure that cooking maintains high quality, plan menus, and handle special diets.
  • Make purchases, receive deliveries, inventory stock, and manage the budget.
  • Ensure the kitchen complies with food legislation, cleaning instructions, and self-control programs.
  • Responsible for kitchen induction of new treatment staff.
  • Participate in dietary advice sessions with clients.

Qualifications:

The following requirements apply for the position:

  • Restaurant or large kitchen education at the upper secondary level, or alternatively other education combined with experience we deem relevant.
  • Good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Category B driver's license.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • Experience working in a large kitchen.
  • Experience working with self-control programs.
  • Experience working with special diets.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time position and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. The work takes place during daytime hours Monday to Friday.
