Sunnanåskolan is a school covering preschool class to grade 6. In our kitchen, we prepare approximately 400 lunch portions daily, and also serve breakfast and snacks. Here, you will work in an operation where food and the meal environment are an important part of the children's daily lives. You will become part of a team of four people, where collaboration, engagement, and joy in work are key parts of the daily routine.

The position is a twelve-month fixed-term assignment starting in the autumn of 2026.

YOUR ROLE
As a cook with us, you are responsible for planning, preparing, and serving high-quality food. You work with both hot and cold dishes and are involved in developing meals together with colleagues and diners. The role also includes planning, purchasing, self-control, hygiene routines, and handling large kitchen equipment. You are also responsible for service tasks related to the nearby preschool. The work is varied and involves close collaboration with both colleagues and other operations. The goal is always the same – to prepare delicious and nutritious food that the children enjoy and benefit from.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for you who have a restaurant education at the upper secondary level or equivalent, or alternatively documented experience as a cook in a restaurant or large kitchen. You have knowledge of hot and cold kitchens, special diets, self-control, and working in a large kitchen. You have experience with planning and purchasing, which is an important part of the job. You thrive working with others and value good relationships. Service is a natural part of your work style, and you remain calm even in more intense situations. You are flexible and adapt quickly when conditions change. You have good knowledge of Swedish to work safely in the kitchen environment.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE
As a cook at Sunnanåskolan, you are an important part of the children's daily lives and contribute to a safe and pleasant meal environment. You will become part of Skellefteå Municipality's meal department, where we together serve approximately 17,000 portions every day. Here, we work with a common goal: to create meal experiences with the diner in focus.
