About the role

We are currently looking for a driven and independent materials engineer with strong analytical skills for our client for a one-year fixed-term position. As a materials engineer, you will focus on characterizing and evaluating coated metal components intended for machining, primarily in the wood industry. Your work will involve assessing and determining material properties as well as evaluating performance, both in a laboratory environment and during actual product use. Additionally, you will be involved in developing new test methods and improving existing ones, as well as technical documentation regarding methods and conducted tests.

In the role of materials engineer, you will work both practically and administratively, with the majority of the work being hands-on with material testing and evaluation. You will be responsible for planning, conducting, and documenting tests, as well as ensuring that materials and results meet the required quality standards. To succeed in this role, we see that you are meticulous, technically curious, and thrive working in a structured manner. You also have good collaboration skills and appreciate working closely with colleagues and other functions within the business.

We are looking for you who

  • Have a university degree in a relevant field for the role, for example: materials or foundry technology or similar
  • Have good knowledge of Swedish and English, as this is required in daily work with colleagues
  • Have an interest in hands-on investigative work combined with theoretical work

Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have previous experience with testing equipment, such as hardness testing, spheroidization testing, and microscopy.
