Dibber Snäckbacken Adapted Primary School in Sollentuna is looking for a new special needs teacher with a focus on intellectual disability!

Dibber Snäckbacken is an adapted primary school for students from preschool class through to grade 9. Our student group has intellectual and physical disabilities and studies subject areas. We offer students an environment based on the belief that all children can develop. We receive between 18–20 students, and each mentor group consists of approximately 6 students.

Dibber Snäckbacken Adapted Primary School offers: Preschool class, grades 1–9 adapted primary school, after-school care, and short-term supervision under Section 9 of the LSS Act (complement to school).

You share Dibber Snäckbacken's pedagogical approach, which focuses on working with care to develop self-worth, empathy, and inclusion.

You notice, articulate, and strengthen situations that build trusting relationships, and you work to build a positive community among students in teaching, in meetings with guardians, and within your work team.

You contribute with knowledge and creativity, commitment to learning, and patience. You celebrate the successes of your students and colleagues, big and small, and rejoice in their new insights and discoveries.

You are responsible for carrying out planning, teaching, documentation, and evaluation of teaching together with your work team. You are part of the team that ensures Snäckbacken students receive teaching that leads to new skills and understanding of norms and values. You are the students' closest support in all daily situations.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified preschool teacher/teacher and have completed special needs teacher education with a focus on intellectual disability, or alternatively, you are a certified preschool teacher/teacher who has started special needs teacher education. Additionally, we would like you to be a clear leader and have:

  • Ability to build trusting relationships
  • Experience and interest in digital tools and systems
  • Collaborative skills and an attitude of sharing knowledge and experience for collegial learning
  • Ability to plan and organize your work

It is an advantage if you have education and experience in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). At Snäckbacken Adapted Primary School, we work with PODD (Pragmatically Organized Dynamic Displays) as "school-AAC". Most of the students are pre-verbal and do not yet speak.

Snäckbacken Adapted Primary School belongs to the school group Dibber, which was established in Sweden in 2017 and today operates preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, and open preschools. Dibber's headquarters are located in Sollentuna, with operations in large parts of Sweden.
