Do you want to work in guidance within a broad and meaningful role where you make a real difference to adults' opportunities for studies and work? We are now looking for a study and career counselor for adult education (Komvux) where you will work with many different target groups and forms of education. Part of the role is specifically aimed at individuals studying within adapted adult education.

About Us

KCNO includes the municipalities of Danderyd, Täby, Vallentuna, Vaxholm, and Österåker, where KCNO serves as the guidance center and admissions office for adult education. Our mandate includes study and career guidance for adults, administration, admissions, and follow-up of educational providers. At KCNO, we are looking for a study and career counselor to strengthen our organization. You will have 17 inspiring colleagues, nine of whom are study and career counselors (the rest are administrative staff, as well as a principal, deputy principal, and educators).

About the Position

As a study and career counselor within adult education, you will have a varied role that combines individual-focused work with administration, collaboration, and information efforts. Guidance interviews and mapping of individuals' study prerequisites are a central part of the job, where you support individuals in making well-informed decisions about studies and future career choices.

You need to have a flexible working style and enjoy meeting people with different backgrounds, experiences, and needs. You will work in an interdisciplinary team and, together with other professions, map individuals' prerequisites and goals.

Responsibilities

The role includes among other things:

  • Conduct individual study and career guidance interviews
  • Map individuals' prerequisites for studying, including support needs
  • Work with guidance related to adapted adult education, including contract follow-up
  • Process applications in a systematic and legally secure manner
  • Respond to cases in the case management system
  • Staff telephone hours and provide service to applicants
  • Lead groups and conduct information meetings and presentations
  • Spread knowledge about adult education and the organization's mandate to partners

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is educated as a study and career counselor
  • Has experience working within adult education and/or with target groups in need of special support
  • Has good administrative skills and works in a structured manner
  • Is confident in leading groups and giving information sessions
  • Has good digital competence and experience working in administrative systems
