We are now looking for a senior and solution-oriented Fullstack Backend Data Engineer for a long-term consulting assignment within public transport and socially important infrastructure in Stockholm. This assignment is ideal for you who want to help develop modern data and analytics platforms in an Azure environment together with experienced and agile teams.

The assignment runs from June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension and up to 50% remote work.

About the role

You will become part of an established Data & Analytics organization consisting of approximately 50 specialists and consultants working in six agile teams. The organization is driving a comprehensive modernization of the technical landscape with a focus on data, analytics, and AI, where a modern analytics platform in Azure is at the center.

In the role, you will work closely with the business and other development teams to create sustainable, scalable, and business-oriented data solutions. You will be a driving force in solution design and actively contribute to knowledge sharing and the development of working methods within the team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modern data and analytics solutions in Azure
• Ensure that solutions meet business requirements and internal guidelines
• Develop and maintain data flows, data models, and integration solutions
• Work with data transformation and modeling of complex datasets
• Build and further develop solutions in Azure Synapse, Databricks, and/or Microsoft Fabric
• Develop and optimize solutions in Apache Spark Notebooks
• Manage information security in connection with the implementation of data solutions
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in modern development environments
• Collaborate with the business as well as other teams within Data & Analytics and IT
• Contribute with mentoring, code reviews, and knowledge transfer within the team

About you

We are looking for you who are analytical, communicative, and confident in the role of a Senior Data Engineer. You have strong technical drive and thrive in complex environments where you can combine development, architecture, and collaboration with the business.

You have experience working data-driven in modern cloud platforms and are comfortable taking responsibility for both technical choices and knowledge sharing within the team.

Experience and Competencies

• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer
• At least 3 years of experience in cloud development and organization-wide data and analytics platforms
• Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, and/or Microsoft Fabric
• Experience with data integrations in cloud-based analytics platforms
• Experience with semantic modeling in Power BI or Azure Analysis Services
• Very good experience with development in Apache Spark Notebooks
• Experience in translating business requirements into dimensional models
• Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with mentoring, code reviews, and technical coaching
• Experience with Data Lakehouse architecture is a plus
• Experience with SQL Server and/or Power BI Report Server in on-premises environments is a plus
• Experience with performance optimization in Spark engines and semantic models is a plus
