About the Role
The Urban Planning Department aims to make accessible, maintain, manage, and develop the municipality's physical environment, infrastructure, and transport with a forward-looking spirit. The department's work is characterized by collaboration, a holistic view, and efficient resource utilization. Through good planning, the department contributes to an attractive living environment that is long-term sustainable from both ecological and social and economic perspectives.
The Urban Planning Department consists of the following operational areas; Physical Planning, Water, Sewage and Waste, Streets, Parks and Forests, and Properties, Environment and Building. The Project and Investment Unit drives and coordinates the department's new investments and reinvestments.

Job Responsibilities
As an infrastructure worker, you will be part of a well-knit team of approximately 15 employees who provide the best possible service to the municipality's clients and citizens. Together, we do everything we can to ensure that the municipality's citizens have the best possible society to live and reside in. Our workplace is characterized by openness and honest relationships where we have a high level of trust.
Your main tasks involve the operation and maintenance of streets as well as the remediation of water and sewage systems in existing streets. Work involving the new construction of streets and roads, as well as all existing water and sewage works, are an important part of your duties. Your flexibility and breadth also mean that you will often work with diverse tasks outside your normal area of operation.
Examples of common tasks include pipe laying, pipeline construction, building pumping stations, etc. Renovation and new construction of streets, pedestrian, and bicycle paths are also included in the tasks, as well as the operation and maintenance of the municipality's facilities.
You will have the entire municipality as your work area, although most tasks will be located near the city.
On-call duty for water and sewage may be included in the position, as well as helping out in other groups/units within the Technical Department.
Qualifications and Merits
We are looking for someone who has:
- Secondary education (High school)
- Good computer skills
- Class B driver's license
- Experience with water and sewage works
- Knowledge of materials within the water and sewage pipe network
- Experience in new construction and renovation of streets
- Or experience that the employer deems equivalent
The following are considered merits:
- Experience with leak detection
- Chainsaw training Class AB
- Food hygiene training in distribution facilities
- Knowledge of technical drawings
- Experience with height measurement and measuring instruments
- Certification in PE welding/Butt welding
- Experience with pumping stations
- Safe lifting
- Training for working on roads
- Hot work certification
- Safe excavation
We are looking for someone who enjoys working together with others but also performing your tasks independently. You have a good sense of service and a willingness to meet customer needs. You have a desire to increase your competence and the drive to develop.
Great importance is placed on your personal qualities, such as initiative, teamwork, and the ability to work equally well with others in a team as independently.
Employment Type
Permanent position.
A position with us may involve placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. Security clearance with register check will then be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
