Riksäpplet is a high school beautifully located near the Rudan outdoor area. It is situated directly adjacent to the Handen commuter train station. At Riksäpplet, Haninge's introduction programs are gathered: language introduction, individual alternative, and vocational introduction. We also have an adapted high school with national and individual programs. In total, we have around 400 students enrolled in our courses.

Responsibilities

You will work at our language introduction program, IMS, as a teacher in Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) and English. The goal for students on IMS is to achieve eligibility for higher education, which is why the teaching is conducted at the primary school level up to grade 9. This position is a fixed-term assignment (vacancy) because one of our teachers is on study leave. You will be part of a team working closely with students' goal achievement and language development. All students have an individual study plan, and your ability to adapt teaching to students' different needs is of great importance. You need a strong ability to build trusting relationships with the students. In addition to usual teacher tasks such as planning, conducting lessons, and follow-up work, the role includes mentorship. The mentorship involves supporting students' knowledge development and working with their individual study plans. The team works with the method "Samsyn Intensivsvenska" (Shared Perspective Intensive Swedish).

Qualifications

You must have a teaching license with eligibility in Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) and English.

You must have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

The work requires excellent collaboration skills with your colleagues in the team. We would appreciate it if you have experience with language-developing teaching methods. It is a merit if you have experience working with students with NPD (neurodevelopmental disorders) as well as experience with the high school language introduction program.
