Job Description
We are looking for you who want to use your skills in an operation where quality, responsibility, and collaboration are at the center. You will join a cheerful and engaged team that supports each other and tackles new challenges together. You follow the medication all the way: from pre-control of the order, through production, to final control where quality and patient safety are in focus. Our working hours vary between 07:00–17:00 on weekdays. When you are confident in all procedures, you will be included as an extemporaneous pharmacist in on-call duty. This means that a pharmacist is on call at home to meet the healthcare's acute needs outside our opening hours.
Do not hesitate, apply for the pharmacist job that is different!
Work Group
The Medicines Center has undergone a long series of changes over several years and has increased multiple times in scope and assignment. The Medicines Center comprises three units: clinical pharmacology, healthcare pharmacy, and the hospital pharmacy, with staff at all three hospitals in the Region of Östergötland. The Center also includes research and education at both basic and advanced levels, in line with the university hospital's mission.
The Hospital Pharmacy, to which the Medication Preparation Department belongs, is in an expansive development phase and is building up a medicine inventory under regional management, with a planned start in early 2028. We have a daily life consisting of new opportunities and developments; take the chance to become part of it!
About You
Perhaps you are graduating this spring and waiting for your license, or you are already a licensed pharmacist or dispenser with extemporaneous authorization and have worked for a few years – it is meritorious if you have worked in medicine production before. For you who are a dispenser but lack extemporaneous authorization, we will offer a course in extemporaneous medicine production. The course is worth 7.5 ECTS credits and will provide full extemporaneous authorization.
Swedish level C1 or C2 is a requirement. Since on-call duty will be part of the position, a driver's license and access to a personal car are required if you do not live close to the University Hospital.
To thrive and fit in with us, your personal qualities are important. As a person, you like to juggle many balls. You are service-oriented, quality-conscious, and structured, and you can prioritize your work in an efficient and careful manner. The work requires that you can work independently as well as in a team. To successfully solve the tasks we face in everyday life, we need good communication. Therefore, the position suits you who enjoy collaboration and are receptive and communicative to both colleagues and other healthcare staff.
In addition to good collaboration skills, you are expected to be engaged, proactive, and together with other employees contribute to developing the operation. You have an aptitude for seeing the whole picture in the operation and thus being flexible. Being flexible with us means being able to adapt to the current situation and change focus, which is crucial as unpredictable events occur daily. Since production involves craftsmanship, you also enjoy working with your hands. You see challenges and changes as opportunities for improvement and development.

Do not forget to attach a copy of your license with your application. If you are graduating this spring, that is no problem; we will wait for your license.
We work with continuous selection, so welcome to send in your application as soon as possible.
