What does the role of a nurse at Norlandia Elderly Care entail?

A nurse at Norlandia Elderly Care is a valuable key person. We are looking for someone who is skilled in their professional role and enjoys meeting people in various situations.

The specific competence of a registered nurse is nursing care. This encompasses both the scientific knowledge base and patient-near work, grounded in a humanistic view of humanity. You are responsible for ensuring that the health and medical needs of our residents are met.

You work with care in everything you do, take significant personal responsibility, and have the ability to prioritize and lead others even in changing circumstances. Flexibility and collegial collaboration are of great importance in this role. We currently have approximately 10 on-call nurses.

Being on-call means you are responsible for our 8 elderly care homes in Västerås. You work from home, where you keep your work bag with a phone and computer. You answer questions via phone or visit the facility for intervention or assessment. Work shifts are planned and booked in our shared team app.

Shifts are in the evenings from 16:00–21:00, and on weekends from 07:00–12:00 or 12:00–16:00.

Night shifts may occur from 21:00–07:00.

A valid driver's license is required for this position.

About our elderly care homes

Norlandia operates 8 elderly care homes in Västerås under contract with the city: Hagaäng, Fatburen, Daggrosen, Hökåsen, Vedbo, Mälarhem, and Ängsklockan. The facilities include both somatic and dementia care, distributed across the buildings.

  • We are looking for a registered nurse.
  • Previous experience as a nurse in elderly care is meritorious.
  • You must have good knowledge of healthcare regulations.
  • You must have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
  • We prefer that you have knowledge of documentation based on ICF and KVÅ.
  • You should have good knowledge of the national quality registers relevant to the operations.
  • A driver's license is required for employment.

Employment type: Fixed-term/Hourly
Scope: As agreed
Start date: May/June

We apply individual salary setting and have a collective agreement. Interviews are conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

In the event of employment, you must be able to provide a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record register). You must also be able to prove your right to work in Sweden, either by showing EU/EEA citizenship or a valid work permit.
