At Region Dalarna, you will find meaningful work where you can make a difference. Together, we work for a sustainable Dalarna with development potential in all parts of the county.
About the RoleNurse for Forensic Psychiatry Care – develop in a varied and meaningful role! Do you want to work in an organization where care, development, and collaboration are at the center? Our forensic psychiatric clinic is now seeking licensed nurses who want to help shape the future of care in an organization undergoing an exciting phase of development!
The Forensic Psychiatric Clinic in Säter is responsible for highly specialized care at the county, regional, and national levels. We primarily treat patients transferred for care under the Act on Forensic Psychiatric Care. Currently, we have 78 care beds distributed across 7 wards. Working in forensic psychiatry is developing and interesting. If you are interested but unsure about what the job entails, there is an opportunity to observe (shadow) at the clinic.
We have recently launched our own nursing unit with the aim of strengthening collaboration, quality, and security in nursing care. As a nurse in the unit, you will become part of a close-knit and cohesive collegial group where knowledge, experiences, and clinical assessments are shared. There is always an opportunity to discuss questions, reflect on working methods, and support each other in daily work.
For you who are new to the profession or new to forensic psychiatry, this means you will never stand alone, but have natural support from colleagues and a clear structure for introduction and supervision. For you with longer experience or specialist competence, there is an opportunity to contribute your knowledge, support colleagues, and help develop nursing care at the clinic.
ResponsibilitiesAs a nurse with us, you play a central role in daily care work. The work is consultative, meaning that during your shift you are responsible for several wards and get to use your competence where it is needed most. This includes leading and supervising nursing staff, as well as being responsible for clinical assessments, care planning, and ward rounds. The nursing care is varied, relationship-oriented, and person-centered, with a strong focus on good treatment, participation, and meeting each patient based on individual needs and conditions.
The work takes place in close collaboration with the clinic's multidisciplinary treatment team, where different professional competencies work together towards common goals. Our mission is to promote health and recovery and to create conditions for a sustainable life without relapse into criminality.
Our clinic is in an active phase of development with several ongoing and upcoming projects. During the year, we work on, among other things:
- Launch of the ÖRV-team (Outpatient Reintegration Team) - with the goal of reducing the number of readmissions and creating safer transitions from inpatient forensic psychiatric care to outpatient care. The team will, among other things, conduct home visits and offer closer follow-up of patients.
- Establishment of a health center - a project to strengthen work with patients' somatic health. Both district doctors and district nurses are linked to the health center. This gives you the opportunity to broaden your somatic competence in a forensic psychiatric context!
- Implementation of Safewards Secure - a method for reducing threats and violence in forensic psychiatric care.
This means that as a nurse, you have the opportunity to participate in development work and contribute to the future of forensic psychiatric care.
