Senior Design Engineer at SIGI in Ängelholm

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will primarily work on customer-specific mechanical design assignments within Engineer-to-Order (ETO). Projects range from customer orders and internal production equipment to product improvements. You are responsible for the entire process – from concept and design to drawings and manufacturing documentation – both independently and within project teams.

You will be introduced to the department's tools and documentation standards to efficiently create complete manufacturing documentation. You will become part of a design team of approximately 13 people in Ängelholm and may also participate in global development projects.

The role also involves a central function in driving system and process improvements within the design department, including further development and scaling of our solutions within SolidWorks and DriveWorks.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for complete manufacturing documentation for approved designs (drawings, SIGI preparation, and compliance with current standards)
• Ensure that documentation is produced within set timeframes
• Ensure that documentation is complete and designed to minimize disruptions in production and purchasing
• Communicate changes in documentation clearly to relevant stakeholders
• Drive and support the development and implementation of SolidWorks-DriveWorks, including:
  • configuration logic
  • templates and rules
  • best practices
  • user support
  • training and continuous improvements

Qualifications – Skills and Experience

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a Designer / Design Engineer
• Technical education at university level or equivalent
• Strong technical interest and a practical, solution-oriented working approach
• Good knowledge of mechanical design and basic strength calculations
• Basic knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems is an advantage
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling
• Experience with design automation and configuration (preferably SolidWorks-DriveWorks or similar)
• Basic knowledge of VBA, C, C#, or Python is an advantage
• Very good proficiency in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written
