Qvantum is looking for a skilled firmware developer with expertise in digital control to help develop the next generation of heat pumps. Your knowledge in digital control and advanced control algorithms will be a key asset in designing high-performance and energy-efficient systems.

Your responsibilities include:

• Requirement analysis, design, implementation, and unit testing of firmware.
• Design of control algorithms.
• Designing and implementing digital control algorithms for thermal systems.
• Working closely with the hardware team to optimize performance and ensure seamless integration between firmware and hardware.
• Debugging and fine-tuning control strategies to improve system efficiency, stability, and response time.
• Supporting real-time data acquisition, filtering, and signal processing for control applications.

Desirable qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in firmware development for embedded control systems.
• Strong background in digital control theory, including PID and advanced control techniques.
• Experience implementing digital control algorithms in C for real-time embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with BLDC motor control, including sensor-based and sensorless methods.
• Knowledge of motor control techniques such as FOC (Field-Oriented Control).
• Experience with microcontrollers for real-time control applications.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and interrupt-driven programming.
• Understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, I2C, SPI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and optimize embedded control systems.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with Threat Modelling for Cyber Security is a plus.
