At the Geographic Information unit, we are responsible for handling geodata in various ways. The unit is project-based and consists of three groups: Surveying Projects, GIS Projects, and Geodata. Our customers are employees, municipal companies, businesses, and residents.

We collect, structure, update, and store geodata. We work with processing, analysis, visualization, modeling, and consumption of geodata. We present, make available, and distribute geodata via maps and map services in 2D and 3D or business systems. We are part of the digital urban planning process.

We are located in pleasant, centrally located premises at Stadsvakten, and our team consists of varied competencies such as team leaders, cartographers, surveying engineers, and GIS engineers. We are now looking for two engaged colleagues who want to contribute alongside us.

Your responsibilities

As a GIS Engineer, you support our customers by processing/managing geodata that can be used in various types of decision support. Your assignments vary in breadth and scope, and competence development is part of the role as you operate in an area where technical development occurs rapidly.

You structure and store geodata. You process different datasets from various databases or other sources. Sometimes you perform analyses of different geodata which are then presented and visualized in various types of map products and services. You work, among other things, in PostGIS, QGIS, and FME.

You work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and team leaders.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have education of at least 180 higher education credits in a relevant field, or alternatively have a relevant vocational higher education combined with experience and competence in the field.

It is meritorious if you have experience in analysis, processing, development, and/or visualization of geographic information. Furthermore, we would like you to be accustomed to working with different types of databases and database modeling. It is positive if you have experience working in FME Form, FME Flow, and QGIS. We also appreciate that you have knowledge in programming.

You are a flexible and collaborative person who thrives in change and adapts easily to new ways of working and situations. With a strong customer focus, you work to understand and meet the customer's needs and create long-term relationships.

You are curious, open to new ideas, and are happy to contribute creative solutions and new perspectives. At the same time, you have good analytical skills and can identify problems, see causes, and find practical solutions together with others.

Since your customers are not always experts in their specialized field, we see that you have the ability to explain complex information in an easy-to-understand way.

You communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
