The Gastroenterology Clinic, MT Clinic, is the regional gastroenterology clinic for the South East Sweden Healthcare Region. The clinic consists of an outpatient clinic with its own endoscopy unit, as well as day care co-located with our inpatient ward. We are 25 doctors out of approximately 130 employees at the clinic.

Job Description

In August 2024, a SPUR inspection was conducted at the MT Clinic. We received consistently very high grades with assessments such as "the work climate is experienced as good. There is a high ceiling for discussion and good access to clinical supervision." Our resident doctors receive consistently good reviews for their high competence when doing side assignments at other clinics.

At the MT Clinic, you will get a personal supervisor and a structured specialist training in gastroenterology and hepatology with a specialization in hepatology at Karolinska University Hospital/Huddinge. The training plan is designed together with you with the goal that you will gain specialist competence in medical gastroenterology and hepatology as well as, if you wish, general internal medicine, according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's description of goals. Clinical supervision is a prioritized area for us, and we have a clear schedule structure where both clinical and professional supervision are scheduled every week.

Our attitude is that as a doctor at the clinic, you should be able to complete your tasks during working hours, and we therefore have administrative time clearly included in the weekly schedule. We think it is important to feel joy in work and to feel at the end of the workday that you have done a good job. Resident doctors from other clinics who do side assignments with us often point out that the atmosphere is very good at the clinic.

The emergency department at the University Hospital (US) is staffed by emergency doctors, and your emergency medicine training will be in the form of continuous shifts at the emergency department. After completing the shifts and two years of internal medicine, you will work as an on-call doctor with responsibility for the internal medicine wards at the US.

There are good research opportunities at the clinic within all our special fields. We have active researchers and good resources with the prerequisites to conduct high-class research. Working at a university hospital also means the opportunity to engage in the education of medical students.

About You

You have a Swedish medical license (attached to the application) and good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing (Swedish C1), as you need to be able to communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues without hindrance. You must have completed general practice service for at least 18 months.

We offer you a role where you are part of a multidisciplinary team with different professional categories, and therefore it is important that you have good cooperation skills. You meet patients and relatives daily, which means you need to have good communication skills. In the role, you will work independently, and therefore we are looking for you who are driven by being able to plan, organize, and prioritize your own work. You show evidence of good judgment towards both patients, relatives, and your colleagues and have a good ability to make correct assessments. We are looking for you who are curious and engaged with a strong desire to develop as a doctor! Great importance is placed on the applicant's personal qualities.

We offer a permanent position that may be preceded by a probationary period. Start date is by agreement.
