The company offers wagon leasing in combination with full-service solutions, where technical competence, after-sales support, and operational availability are central to the business. Sales often take place in project form and are characterized by long sales cycles, where understanding the customer's business and persistent relationship building are crucial. Sustainability is an integrated part of the operations, and rail is seen as a key element in future transport systems. VTG actively works to contribute to more resource-efficient and climate-smart transport solutions.

In Scandinavia, VTG is in a phase where sales activities are developing towards a clearer market focus. The team is small and experienced, with close collaboration both internally and internationally. Here, there are good opportunities to influence how the business is built and developed.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Account Manager, you are responsible for managing and developing VTG's customer collaborations on the Scandinavian market. The role involves an even split between further developing existing customer relationships and actively driving new customer acquisition. You work closely with both established customers and new potential partners, presenting and selling VTG's entire product portfolio across all segments.

You identify, initiate, and acquire new business opportunities through structured prospecting, while continuously monitoring the market and conducting market analyses to establish and expand long-term, sustainable customer relationships. The role includes creating customer-specific, needs-based solutions and offers, as well as representing VTG in external contexts such as trade fairs, networking events, and industry conferences.

You collaborate cross-functionally both locally and internationally, for example with product development, internal sales, and responsible operational units, to drive business from early dialogue to long-term collaboration. A large part of the workday is spent in meetings with customers, either physically or digitally. Travel occurs regularly, estimated at up to eight travel days per month including overnight stays.

  • Process new, potential, and existing customers with a focus on both prospecting and market presence

  • Continuous market monitoring and analysis to identify new business opportunities

  • Initiate, drive, and develop business with long sales cycles

  • Establish and further develop sustainable customer relationships

  • Represent VTG at trade fairs, networks, and relevant industry events

Education, experience, and personal qualities

  • Several years of experience in B2B sales, within complex or project-based sales

  • Experience in actively driving new customer acquisition and prospecting

  • Experience working systematically in CRM systems and following up on pipeline and activities

  • Technical interest and ability to familiarize yourself with product and service solutions

  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

  • Valid driver's license (Category B)

You are accustomed to taking responsibility for creating business opportunities and thrive working proactively. You do not wait for business to come to you, but rather map, contact, and follow up until the next step is clear. You are comfortable with long sales cycles and understand that results are built over time through continuity and discipline. At the same time, you are relationship-oriented and build trust by being well-informed, receptive, and clear in dialogue with both customers and colleagues. You see structure and CRM as a natural support in daily life and work methodically to create overview and progress.
