Do you want to work at the intersection of business and IT and be part of a business-critical project from the start? We are now looking for a Solution Engineer to join a stable and competent team within industrial IT that is embarking on an exciting cloud journey.

About the Solution Engineer Role

As a Solution Engineer, you will take on a key role where you work closely with the business operations to ensure that IT solutions truly add value in production. The role combines business understanding, technical system work, and collaboration with both end-users and development partners.

You will become part of an experienced team responsible for several central systems within maintenance, production, and circular flows. This autumn, a comprehensive project will start where the organization transitions from on-premises solutions to cloud-based systems (IFS Cloud), and you will be involved from the beginning.

The location is in Skövde, and the work takes place in the office in modern, newly renovated premises.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of Solution Engineer, you will among other things:

  • Closely collaborate with the business to understand commercial and operational needs
  • Translate business needs into system requirements and solutions through configuration
  • Work hands-on in business-critical systems linked to production and maintenance
  • Conduct IT tests and support quality assurance, including integration and acceptance tests
  • Participate in rollout, upgrades, and migration related to the cloud transformation
  • Support the factories with system expertise in daily operations and during change initiatives
  • Handle cases and improvements in case management systems

You work cross-functionally and become a vital link between IT, the business, and external suppliers.

Your Profile

To thrive in this role, we see that you have:

  • A university degree in fields such as computer science, information technology, or similar
  • At least a few years of experience in similar relevant work
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Experience working in agile development and/or maintenance environments
  • A strong interest in how IT solutions are used in real-world operations

We welcome both junior and more experienced candidates; the right attitude and potential weigh heavily.

Merits

It is a plus if you have experience with any of the following:

  • IT testing (functional tests, integration tests, etc.)
  • Databases, SQL, or Oracle
  • SaaS or cloud-based business systems, preferably IFS

Personal Attributes

We believe you are a person who is:

  • Curious and analytical
  • Proactive and responsible
  • Communicative and confident in dialogue with various stakeholders
  • Comfortable taking end-to-end ownership

About the Company

The company is part of a global industrial group with a strong presence in Skövde and a clear focus on digitalization and business-oriented IT solutions. The operations are responsible for the development, delivery, and support of business-critical systems used in production, maintenance, and industrial flows both locally and globally.

The organization is in an exciting phase of growth and change, investing heavily in modern technology and transitioning from traditional on-premises solutions to cloud-based platforms. The work is done in close collaboration between IT and the business, with the goal of creating stable, user-friendly, and future-proof solutions for factories worldwide.

Here, high technical competence, long experience, and a secure team culture meet. Employees are given significant responsibility, good development opportunities, and the chance to influence both working methods and technical choices in long-term and socially important projects.

You will become part of a team with high competence, long experience, and an open climate where people help each other. Onboarding is structured, and you will get a buddy to support you during the start-up phase. Working hours are office hours with flexibility; travel to other sites may occur.
